29Rooms: Breakin' Necks in Brooklyn's Funhouse!

This past Monday I headed to New York for Refinery29's epic art installation, 29Rooms. This was their third year hosting the event and I finally snagged tickets! While the events popularity prohibited me from seeing a few rooms (super long lines!), I do think the staff did a great job making sure everyone got to experience as many rooms as possible. I'm proud to say I atleast made it to a solid 22 Rooms! Each room had a different theme and sponsor. I loved the carousel installation by Ulta Beauty as well as the room filled with giant disco balls . But, I also appreciated the installations driven by more political/social issues like Jill Soloway's bathroom installation that brought awareness to the need for trans-safe spaces. I haven't attended an art event of epic proportions in a while so I really enjoyed myself. Every inch of the space was visually stunning and Instagram-worthy obviously! It also totally made up for me missing the ever-so-popular Infinity Mirrors by YAYOI KUSAMA exhibit while it was here in DC.

29Rooms took place during NYFW so I made sure to give as much casual slay as I could while gallivanting the streets of New York. While I was there I also dropped into What Goes Around Comes Around (they have the largest vintage Chanel collection in the world!) and Bulletin (a shop that fulfills all of your feminist dreams!). For lunch, I checked out Pies 'n' Thighs which by itself was worth the trip! Check out what I wore below.
